Collaborating on Shared Patient Care

We welcome the opportunity to work with you. We are committed to providing timely access to our specialists when you need it. Whether contacting us by phone, the web, or through our physician liaison, we will promptly attend to the needs of you and your patient. We offer next-day appointments in Boston for newly-diagnosed patients for whom quick access is important. In addition, patients will receive a call back from one of our oncology nurses to answer questions and help them prepare for the appointment.

The Cancer Diagnostic Service at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center provides an efficient path to reach a timely diagnosis for patients that present with signs or symptoms of cancer to avoid unnecessary testing and delays in treatment. To refer a patient to the Cancer Diagnostic Service, please call 857-307-5775.

Physicians Liaisons and Inpatient Transfers

Our Physician Liaisons are available to help with patient referrals, inpatient transfers, consultations with specialists and background information about our physicians and services. Call (617) 632-2040.

Inpatient Transfers to Boston (MDCONNECT) facilitate the transfer and transport of patients. With one call, an operator will coordinate timely communication between referring and receiving physicians, locate inpatient beds, and arrange transport. Ground-based, mobile ICUs, staffed with specially trained nurses and paramedics, are also available. Call (877) 637-3337 24 hours a day and press the number “2” for Brigham and Women’s.
